The Big Day
Join us for some activities on Saturday morning if you fancy it. Otherwise, there is lots to do around the Shaldon area.
9AM Swimming
Meet on Ness beach for a morning swim. All abilities welcome. Wetsuits and goggles optional!
Where? Ness Beach, Shaldon. (Through the tunnel!)
9AM Golf
'The Shaldon Invitational' - the chance of a lifetime to win the coveted Green jacket to wear at the wedding ceremony / reception.
Pitch n' Putt - golfing skill purely optional. £10 entry which includes club and ball hire. Please email 'edandrosie2023@gmail.com' to confirm if you are keen to enter.
Where? Shaldon Approach Golf. (Near Ness Car Park).
2.30PM Wedding Ceremony
Where? Saint Nicholas Ringmore in the Parish of Shaldon (Google Maps link here)
Please be aware that unfortunately the Church has very limited seating. Sadly, not everyone will be able to fit in the Church. There will be a gazebo with a live-feed outside and some cold drinks for anyone wishing to watch from outside instead. There is no parking at the Church. There is however lots of parking in the field where we are hosting the reception (see below). This is then an easy walk down to the Church. Cars can be left in the field overnight and picked up on Sunday.
Alternatively, there is limited on road parking nearby or a small car park (King George V car park) around 1km away on the flat!
4PM Wedding Reception
Where? A field on Long Lane, roughly 1 mile up the hill from the Church. What3Words: = 'standards.primed.outdoor'. Look out for signs from the Church and up Long Lane.
It is an 800m walk from the Church to the reception. This is up a steep lane so it might be worth bringing some comfy shoes for the walk. Alternatively, there will be some shuttles in cars doing lifts from the Church.
12AM Carriages
Please be sure to book Taxis early. Google 'Teignmouth Taxi' and you will find a range of taxi companies. Uber hasn't ventured down to Devon yet and calling on the day won't be possible. If you are struggling to arrange a lift then please let us know.
Dress Code
'Summer formal' - suits or jackets for guys. Ties optional. Girls, we trust your judgement. Military dress encouraged!
Gifts
Please do not feel obliged to bring a gift as we are so grateful for making the effort to come and celebrate with us. If you would like to and need some inspiration we do have a gift list here.

The Local Area
We love living in Devon and can't wait to share it with you. Here are some of our favourite activities:
Walks/Runs
-
South West Coast Path - challenging but stunning. The walk to Maidencombe and back is a favourite - about 10km with over 500m of climbing - but a great cafe stop half way. https://www.strava.com/routes/3109474449446415000
-
Teignmouth sea front - a good flat option. Run over Shaldon bridge and to the end of the sea wall. Option to get the ferry back! Also plenty of good cafe options for a stop. https://www.strava.com/routes/3109473597712008342
-
Dartmoor has plenty more options and only half an hour drive!
Cycling
-
Dartmoor is on our doorstep. Get in touch if you need a route suggestion
Cafes
-
The Clipper Cafe - great for brunch, lunch, dinner. Quick service and great views.
-
The Lollie Bean - best coffee in Shaldon
-
Teign Bean - Teignmouth sea front pit stop option. Good coffee, cakes and bacon sandwiches. Very aggressive seagulls so be careful!
-
Cafe Rio - Maidencombe stop option. Good coffee and snack menu.
Restaurants/Pubs
-
The Ferry Boat Inn - on the beach in Shaldon, always busy, you'll probably find us here. Does an excellent BBQ Friday-Sunday.
-
The London - great food. Definitely need to book in advance for lunch or dinner although there is outdoor seating for drinks and bar menu
-
The Ness - also a good food option and a great spot for a drink with a view. Also worth booking.
Where to stay?
Accommodation is now quite booked up. There are still some available AirBnB options in the local area.

If you are stuck then please give Rosie or Ed a ring!
